BILOCATE's 'Sudden Death Syndrome' Album 'Banned' In Lebanon

June 6, 2009

Jordanian dark oriental metallers BILOCATE have issued a press release claiming that their new album, "Sudden Death Syndrome", has been "banned" in Lebanon. Considering that the CD is being sold in many countries in the Middle East, such as Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait, and all over USA and Europe, the band says it was "shocked" to learn that the album would not be made available in Lebanon.

Commented bassist Hani Al Abaddi: "As the suppression and ignorance grow in this region, we feel sorry to hear these news, although our album doesn't attack neither politics nor religion, as we respect both and we only tackle issues that surround this region such as constant war, death, sadness etc. Furthermore, BILOCATE is committed to their music and we'll keep working to get this type of music recognized as a form of art."

He added, "We are sorry for all our fans and friends in Lebanon. We had a blast last year in our concert and we would love to have the experience again and share the stage with all the great metal bands in Lebanon."

The cover artwork for "Sudden Death Syndrome" (see below) was designed by Dennis Sibeijn, who has previously worked with such bands as DRACONIAN, CHIMAIRA and ABORTED.

"Sudden Death Syndrome" was mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studio in Sweden with producer Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA, BLOODBATH, AMON AMARTH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST)

The track listing for the effort is as follows:

01. Humans And The Dark Affiliation
02. Blooded Forest
03. The Dead Sea
04. Ebtehal
05. Inoculate
06. Pure Wicked Sins
07. The Stone of Hate

Bogren previously stated about BILOCATE: "BILOCATE takes the qualities from the best epic death metal bands and blend it with their very own Middle Eastern touch, and out comes one of the most interesting metal bands I've heard for a long time You can hear that they put effort and thought in to every note and every scream!"

BILOCATE's Ramzi Essayed recorded the vocals for the CD at the In the Mix studios with Nash Planojevic, who is known for his work as a monitor engineer for IRON MAIDEN and SAXON.

BILOCATE was interviewed by MEMetalHead.com at the SandStorm Festival on May 2, 2009 at Chi club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Watch the chat below.
